Drone attack on Kyiv on January 16: which areas were affected, the consequences, and key details.
As a result of the night and morning drone attack by the Russian Armed Forces on January 16, half of Kyiv's districts were affected by falling debris. The debris shattered the windows of at least two cars and damaged the hood of a vehicle whose driver was parking at that moment. The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Kravchenko, wrote about the details of the Russian drone strike on his Telegram channel.
Kravchenko reported that during the prolonged Russian drone attack, debris damaged several vehicles and the facade of a building. He also assured that there were no fires or casualties. The note listed five districts where debris fell:
- Dniprovskyi;
- Solomianskyi;
- Holosiivskyi;
- Darnytskyi;
- Pecherskyi.
Other details regarding the attack by the Russian Armed Forces, which affected half of the capital's districts (southeastern and central), were not published by Kravchenko.

On social media, there were no photos from the locations in Kyiv where the Russian drones fell, as reported by the State Emergency Service, National Police, and other agencies. Meanwhile, a reporter from the "Kyiv 24" channel visited one of these locations in the Solomianskyi district. During a live broadcast, three cars affected by the Russian Armed Forces' attack were shown. One of the vehicles was struck by debris just as the driver was attempting to park: it shattered the front headlight and penetrated the hood. The other two cars had damage to the front and rear windows.
Details of the Night Strike on the Capital
Meanwhile, on the night of January 15, a massive missile and drone attack by Russia took place. The Russians launched 117 aerial targets: air defense systems shot down 23 X-101 missiles (out of 27), three Kalibr missiles (out of four), and four X-59 missiles (out of four).
