In Zaporizhzhia, a rescue operation is ongoing following a missile strike by Russian forces on the city.

This was reported on Facebook by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The number of injured from the attack has risen to at least 14, but there may be people trapped under the rubble of damaged buildings, and all services have been engaged in their search, the president noted.

"Each such strike proves the need to enhance our air defense capabilities. The world has enough systems to make this happen. We have submitted all requests regarding air defense to our partners: both for Patriot and for other systems that can be effective in protecting lives," Zelensky wrote.

According to him, the only issue is political decisions, specifically from the American administration, European leaders, and other partners of Ukraine worldwide. The head of state added that these decisions "can save thousands of lives and render Russian terror meaningless."
