Japan has implemented new sanctions against Russia due to its war in Ukraine. Assets will be frozen for 33 organizations and 12 individuals, including a citizen of North Korea.

According to a report from the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

The list includes, among others, the head of "Rostec" Vladimir Artyakov and the CEO of Russia's largest diamond mining company "Alrosa" Pavel Marinychev, as well as North Korean citizen Rim Yong Hyok, who is linked to the country's main arms trading company, KOMID.

Additionally, export bans and other measures have been imposed on 53 organizations from various countries, including Russia, China, Turkey, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Thailand. Most of these are manufacturers and suppliers of the military-industrial complex.

Furthermore, starting January 23, Japan will also prohibit the export of an additional 335 goods, writes Nikkei. Among these are engine parts for special vehicles, such as cranes and small motorcycles – items that could enhance Russia's industrial capabilities. The embargo also includes chemicals, such as capsaicin, which are associated with the development of chemical weapons.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Japan had added over 50 companies, institutions, and individuals from Russia to its sanctions lists, as well as firms from China, India, Kazakhstan, and other countries. According to Ukraine's allies, these companies help Russia circumvent sanctions and procure electronics for the production and enhancement of weapons.
