Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine requires an additional 10-12 Patriot systems for its defense. These are the primary guarantees of the country's security.
He mentioned this during a meeting with Iratxe García Pérez, the head of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group in the European Parliament.
According to the president, such a number of air defense systems would "ensure our survival and render Putin's war meaningless." He added that if the sky is protected, neither KABs nor missiles will be able to hit Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities, hospitals, schools, and universities.
"One system costs one and a half billion. Take this money from Russian assets. It will amount to 30 billion. But it will completely and finally secure our sky. And that’s it. People will return to normal life, including those from abroad. Children will attend schools and universities. The economy will function," Zelensky noted.
