Baseball player Juan Soto has reached a record deal with the New York Mets, as reported by The Associated Press.
The star outfielder will sign a contract with his new team, which will pay him $765 million, with the total potentially rising to $805 million under certain conditions.
The agreement will span 15 years, and by the time it concludes, Soto will be 41 years old.
Both figures—total money and contract duration—set records in professional sports leagues in the United States.
