A magnetic storm continues to rage on Earth, a result of a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the Sun that occurred at the end of last work week. Scientists predict that it will last for several more days.
Minor geomagnetic storms of class G1 have been affecting our planet since October 16 due to the arrival of the CME. This event was triggered by sunspot AR3854 on October 11, as reported by astro-meteorologists from the space weather research site Spaceweather.
Meanwhile, according to data from Meteoagent, which generates online forecasts using information from NOAA, TESIS, and scientific international meteorological laboratories worldwide, Earth will be under the influence of magnetic storms rated at levels 4 and 5 in the coming days.
Currently, on October 16, a strong 5-point storm is raging. The following day, October 17, its intensity will decrease to a moderate 4-point storm. By the end of the week, no fluctuations above the green level are expected.
