Vladimir Zelensky suggested that a ceasefire agreement with Russia could be reached if the Ukrainian-controlled unoccupied territories are protected by NATO. According to the president, this would allow him to later negotiate the return of the remaining territory through "diplomatic means."
He stated this in an interview with SkyNews.
The entire Ukraine – within its internationally recognized borders – should be invited to join the Alliance, the president emphasized.
Zelensky pointed out that a ceasefire is necessary to "ensure that Putin does not return" to seize more Ukrainian territories.
"If we want to stop the active phase of the war, we need to bring the territories under our control in Ukraine under NATO's umbrella," the president said.
