Ukraine participated in the flower ceremony of the mixed relay at the Biathlon World Cup.
The mixed relay of the first stage of the World Cup season 2024/25 has concluded in the Finnish town of Kontiolahti.
The Ukrainian team competed with the following members – Khrystyna Dmytrenko, Vitalii Mandzyn, Yuliia Dzhima, and Anton Dudchenko. They managed to secure the sixth position.
Dmytrenko started the race and only missed once at two shooting ranges, but her pace was not the best, which left her in ninth place when she handed over the baton, with only a small gap from the fifth position.
Yuliia Dzhima performed well after taking over her part of the race, maintaining a good pace, but she missed once during the first shooting. However, she significantly outperformed her competitors in the standing shoot and was in the 6th-7th positions by the time she passed the baton.
Anton Dudchenko used two extra cartridges during his two shooting rounds and was in fifth place, but he lost pace to the Italian athlete and handed the baton to Vitalii Mandzyn in sixth place. The finisher of the Ukrainian team also missed at the shooting ranges twice, but this did not prevent him from maintaining the sixth position.

Background. In the first race of the season – the mixed individual relay, Ukraine only finished in ninth place.
