In France, five parliament members have called on the defense minister to send instructors to Ukraine.

They propose to establish a European coalition, with France potentially taking a leading role alongside the British, Polish, Baltic, and Scandinavian armies.
В Франции 5 депутатов парламента обратились к министру обороны с просьбой направить инструкторов в Украину.

Five members of the French Parliament have penned an open letter to the Minister of Defense of the Republic, Sébastien Lecornu, demanding the deployment of military instructors to Ukraine, who would train Ukrainian soldiers directly on Ukrainian soil, significantly easing logistics and expediting timelines.

This was reported by MP Frédéric Petit on social media.

"We, five deputies from five different political groups, are appealing to the French Minister of Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, to send French military instructors to Ukraine. The brutality of the conflict and the advance of Russian troops in Donbas compel us to believe that the military training previously conducted in France and Poland should now continue on Ukrainian territory," the letter states.

The deputies propose to involve other countries in this initiative.

"We support the proposal to create a European coalition to send military instructors to Ukraine. Today, France can take a leading role in this coalition alongside British, Polish, Baltic, and Scandinavian armies," the parliamentarians emphasized.

"As the Russian Federation recruits thousands of North Korean troops to fight against the Ukrainian army, our response must be to increase direct support for Ukraine. We should not send soldiers to fight against the Russian army," Petit stressed, "but rather send military instructors to train soldiers on Ukrainian soil who are defending their territorial integrity and our democratic values."

According to the deputies, in light of potential negotiations, France and European countries should show no signs of weakness and must not allow their behavior to be dictated by the Kremlin's red lines.

Along with Petit, the letter was signed by deputies Constance Le Grip, Anna Pic, Lauren Mazori, and Xavier Roseren.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted the day before: "I emphasize the importance of inviting Ukraine to NATO and continuing the training and equipping of Ukrainian brigades both on the territory of allies and through the development of France's idea regarding training missions in Ukraine."

Background. Recently, Le Monde reported, citing its sources, that France and the United Kingdom have resumed discussions on the possible deployment of troops to Ukraine. According to these sources, Paris and London do not rule out the possibility of creating a coalition to support Kyiv.
