Negotiations in Saudi Arabia: Russia believes that "progress" in talks with the US is possible in the coming months.

In the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, negotiations have begun between delegations from the USA and Russia concerning a peaceful resolution in Ukraine. Russia believes that "progress" in talks with the USA is possible within the next 2–3 months.

This was stated by Kirill Dmitriev, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, as reported by Russian media.

He believes that Russia and the USA "need to move towards joint projects, including in the Arctic."

Dmitriev accused the former Biden administration of "lacking the desire to understand Russia's concerns." According to him, "the USA is now ready to listen to and understand Russia's position."

The USA is represented at the negotiations by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Vitkoff. The Russian side includes Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev.

Also participating in the negotiations are Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Saudi National Security Advisor Musaid bin Mohammed Al Aiban.
