In the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, negotiations have begun between delegations from the USA and Russia concerning a peaceful resolution in Ukraine. Russia believes that "progress" in talks with the USA is possible within the next 2–3 months.

This was stated by Kirill Dmitriev, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, as reported by Russian media.

He believes that Russia and the USA "need to move towards joint projects, including in the Arctic."

Dmitriev accused the former Biden administration of "lacking the desire to understand Russia's concerns." According to him, "the USA is now ready to listen to and understand Russia's position."

The USA is represented at the negotiations by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Vitkoff.
