The Cabinet of Ministers today allocated over 1.5 billion UAH to support the safe condition of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant shelter.
This was reported by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.
In addition, the government made amendments to the resolution that regulates the use of budget funds for maintaining the safety of the "Shelter" facility and the decommissioning of the Chernobyl NPP.
The amendments specifically include:
- a clear allocation of funding for these works in 2025 and consideration of current budgetary rules;
- clarification of the procedure for using funds to ensure uninterrupted support for the station;
- continuation of works, as the safety of the Chernobyl zone remains "critically important."
