Ukrainian furniture manufacturers exported products worth $909 million in 2024, which is an increase of 15.5% compared to 2023.
This is reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing the words of Oksana Donskaya, a board member of the Ukrainian Furniture Association (UAM) and an export expert.
The expert noted that the woodworking and furniture industries together rank among the top ten commodity groups in exports, accounting for 5.7% of Ukraine's total merchandise exports.
Donskaya believes that the positive trend in furniture exports will exceed $1 billion this year. She attributed this forecast to the trends in the global furniture market, which are currently shifting towards growth in European countries at a rate of 8 to 10% per year.
In particular, the UAM member mentioned that the IKEA brand is returning to the Ukrainian market with a demand for a wide range of furniture products.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Ukrainian exports to the UAE increased by 23.7% in 2024. The trade turnover is still lower than before the full-scale invasion.
