The Commander of the Ground Forces, Mykhailo Drapatiy, has officially taken charge of the operational-strategic grouping of troops (OSUV) "Khortytsia."

This was reported via Telegram by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"I thanked Major General Andrii Hnatov for his work in OSUV 'Khortytsia,' who will continue to serve as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Syrskyi added.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the enemy is currently concentrating the majority of its forces in the areas belonging to the operational zone of OSUV "Khortytsia." The Defense Forces' task is to hold the line, inflict maximum losses on the enemy, and care for Ukrainian defenders.

"I have set priority tasks to counter the pressure from the overwhelming adversary. We are working together," Syrskyi added.

To remind: Mykhailo Drapatiy led the operational grouping "Kherson" until January 2024.

In February 2024, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff for military training. In May, he became the new commander of the Joint Forces Operation "Kharkiv" and halted the advance of Russian troops in the Kharkiv region.

Mind reported that Drapatiy has been at war since 2014. At that time, he was the commander of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade, which reinforced the defense of Mariupol. Later, he entered the National Defense University of Ukraine, switched to part-time studies, and returned to the ATO as the chief of staff of the 30th separate mechanized brigade.
