The U.S. has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $988 million.

The U.S. Department of Defense has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $988 million to combat Russian aggression.

The aid package includes:

• ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems;
• unmanned aerial vehicles;
• equipment, components, and spare parts for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of artillery systems, tanks, and other armored vehicles.

The Department of Defense noted that this is the 22nd aid package for Ukraine under the USAI (Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative). “The United States will continue to work alongside approximately 50 allies and partners as part of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and related coalitions to provide the military capability necessary to support Ukraine in winning the war,” the department emphasized.
