According to Shmyhal, 240 defense-tech companies have become residents of "Diia.City."

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke about the achievements and future plans of "Diia.City".

This took place at an event dedicated to the third anniversary of the project's launch.

According to Shmyhal, immediately after the Russian invasion, defense-tech companies were allowed to join “Diia.City”. By 2022, there were about 20 such companies in Ukraine. Now the number of residents in “Diia.City” has grown to 240 defense-tech companies.

“This is a significant indicator, result. I thank the businesses that are developing and helping to protect our state, Ukraine,” he noted.

The Prime Minister also remarked that a fundamentally new technological market has been created in Ukraine in a short time. According to him, this development has become one of the factors contributing to Ukraine's defense capability.

Shmyhal also discussed the IT-sector. He pointed out that it is the largest exporter of services in Ukraine, ranking 2nd in the overall structure of Ukrainian exports after agricultural products. According to last year’s results, the export revenue from IT services reached $6.4 billion.

In addition, new opportunities in the fields of medtech, biotech, agritech, and the implementation of artificial intelligence in various sectors were also discussed at the meeting.

“Recently, the Diia.City space opened up for small startups. Manufacturers of bionic prosthetics have also been given the opportunity to become residents. Plans include expanding the Diia.City space to encompass the activities of scientific parks. This will be an important step in the development of science-intensive sectors of the economy,” wrote Shmyhal later on his Telegram.
