Recently, a presentation of the vision for the Ministry of Education's initiative "Science-City" took place, aimed at uniting the efforts of science, business, and the government to establish a network of modern scientific parks. This has led to universities being ready to create new scientific parks and become members of "Diia.City”.
This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov at the event dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of "Diia.City".
"And if we can change the laws this year, then there will be some expansion of "Diia.City”, which will positively affect the market, including science,” he stated.
He also mentioned that the ministry is currently working on “Diia.City-invest”.
“We have another ambition – to create the best environment for establishing venture funds in Ukraine. Of course, right now, there is a full-scale war and many challenges, but you must think about what will happen after the war, think about how to attract investments,” the minister emphasized.
According to him, as soon as funds for recovery become available, it will be necessary to create “the right conditions” for venture investments, and eventually for the establishment of funds and management investments.
Fedorov also stated that the Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to propose changes to the government regarding the expansion of activities in "Diia.City" shortly. In particular, to add R&D and technical testing.
“Because right now we see that a large number of companies are starting to engage in fact, in the private sector of science,” he added.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that 50% of the residents of "Diia.City" have switched to the capital withdrawal tax regime. According to Fedorov, the capital withdrawal tax for IT is a very “important and effective tool.”
