The film company Warner Bros., through its subsidiary Wayne Enterprises, has announced the commencement of limited series production of the Batmobile Tumbler. It gained fame for its role in the Batman film trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the company.
This monstrous vehicle has left a lasting impression on the masses, and many independent workshops are already profiting from building its replicas. Now, there is an opportunity to purchase a limited series version approved by the creators.
It is claimed that it is fully identical to the prototype featured in the film. However, this is precisely why it is prohibited from being driven on public roads. The manufacturing of these vehicles will be handled by the Hollywood company Action Vehicle Engineering, and the cars are being produced to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Batman character. The limited series model is based on an original tubular frame, over which exterior body panels made of fiberglass, carbon fiber, and steel are installed.
The design closely resembles that of the Batmobile from the movies. The car measures 4.6 meters in length, 2.83 meters in width, 1.52 meters in height, and weighs around 2.5 tons. Unfortunately, Wayne Enterprises has not released images of the interior, but it is known that the two-seat cabin will feature seats with five-point harnesses, climate control, digital instruments, and a navigation system.
The Tumbler is powered by a 6.2-liter atmospheric V8 engine producing 532 horsepower, paired with a four-speed GM 4L85E automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Only 10 units of the Batmobile Tumbler will be produced. It is reported that the construction of each will take 15 months. Therefore, it is not surprising that each unit will cost 2.9 million dollars.
